Spicy Tilapia

This is a very simple recipe that takes about 5 minutes prep time.   I make it a little spicier than most but you can easily adjust the seasonings according to your liking.tilapia1

Ingredients

16 ounces tilapia fillets (or other white fish as preferred)
2 tablespoons butter (if you are on South Beach, use lite butter, if you are on HCG P2 eliminate it altogether
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 teaspoons chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

In a shallow bowl combine the melted butter and lemon juice.

Pour butter mixture over the fish.

Sprinkle with oregano, basil, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.

Place in a shallow casserole sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes, or until fish flakes when pressed.

Serves 4
